Ambient light sensor applications in portable electronics
Wed, 18 Aug 2010 17:08:00 GMT
In portable electronic products, reducing power consumption to provide increased battery life is one of today's critical design considerations. The liquid crystal display (LCD) and its back¬lighting are among the most power hungry loads. In consequence, the use of ambient light sensors (ALS) to optimize the operation of the backlight LEDs is increasing while, at the same time, the preferred technology choices have shifted towards more integrated solutions.
