Analog and mixed signal specialist foundry LFoundry (Landshut, Germany) has joined Europractice IC's multiproject wafer (MPW) service initiative.
Analog and mixed signal specialist foundry LFoundry (Landshut, Germany) has joined Europractice IC's multiproject wafer (MPW) service initiative. The move gives European companies and academic organisations low-cost access to ASIC prototyping and small volume production on LFoundry's LF150 modular 0.15um Low Power and RF CMOS process. According to LFoundry, this process provides up to six levels of aluminum interconnects, MIM capacitor, polymide passivation and I/O voltages of 1.8V, 3.3V and 5.0V.
Access to LFoundry's MPW service is coordinated by IMEC (Leuven, Belgium), whilst Fraunhofer IIS can provide design service support. LFoundry also supplies silicon-qualified, general-purpose I/O cells and digital standard cells, suitable for use with Synopsys, Mentor Graphics or Cadence digital standard flows.
